Spring Pop-Up Pet Portraits in Kirkland

A Community Event Benefiting The Whole Cat and Kaboodle at LiveWell Animal Hospital

There’s something special that happens when a community comes together for animals. This spring, we had the honor of hosting a pet photography pop-up in Kirkland, WA in collaboration with LiveWell Animal Hospital, raising funds for The Whole Cat and Kaboodle while creating meaningful portraits for local pet families.

As a Kirkland and Seattle pet photographer, these are the moments that remind us why we do what we do. It goes far beyond the photos.

More Than a Pet Photography Session

When people hear “mini sessions” or “pop-up portraits,” they often expect something quick and transactional. But what unfolded inside the LiveWell clinic was something entirely different.

Yes, we created beautiful portraits.
Yes, pets sat (or didn’t sit) for the camera.

But what really happened was connection.

Pet parents met each other. Our local businesses came together and amazing stories were shared about beloved cats and dogs.

And through it all, we were able to raise funds and awareness for The Whole Cat and Kaboodle, a rescue doing incredible work for cats in our community.

“What If My Pet Won’t Sit Still?”

This is one of the most common concerns we hear as a pet photographer in Kirkland.

The truth is, most pets don’t walk into a studio and pose perfectly. And they don’t have to.

From energetic dogs to curious cats, every pet that stepped onto our pop-up set brought their own personality. Some were playful, some were cautious, some were wildly expressive. And every single one of them gave us something real.

We’ve photographed:

  • Dogs with big personalities who never stop moving

  • Cats in unfamiliar environments

  • Even animals in completely non-traditional settings like barns and outdoor pop-ups

And somehow, every time, we capture something meaningful.

Because it’s not about perfection. It’s about presence.

A Kirkland Community That Shows Up

Hosting this event inside LiveWell Animal Hospital gave pet parents the opportunity to not only participate in portraits, but to experience a local veterinary clinic that truly cares.

Events like this are about more than photography. They’re about:

  • Supporting local animal hospitals and small businesses

  • Raising funds for rescues like The Whole Cat and Kaboodle

  • Creating spaces where pet lovers can connect

As a Kirkland WA pet photographer, being part of that ecosystem matters deeply to us.

Why We Host Pet Photography Fundraisers

At Olive & Fable, community outreach isn’t something we do occasionally. It’s a core part of who we are.

From cat rescue fundraisers to dog-centered events across the greater Seattle area, these pop-ups allow us to:

  • Give back to organizations making a difference

  • Make professional pet photography accessible

  • Meet incredible pets and their people

  • Build lasting relationships within the Kirkland and Seattle pet community

And every time, we walk away changed by the stories we hear.

The Portraits That Matter Most

You can have hundreds of photos of your pet on your phone.

But how many of them feel like them?

At this pop-up, we weren’t just taking photos. We were capturing:

  • The way a dog looks up at their person

  • The quiet curiosity in a cat’s eyes

  • The bond between pets and the people who love them

These are the images that deserve to live beyond a screen. The ones that become part of your home.
