Olive & Fable at the Furry 5K: Celebrating Pets, Community, and Giving Back

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, Seward Park in Seattle was filled with wagging tails, smiling faces, and a whole lot of love for pets. The Furry 5K Fun Run & Walk brought together hundreds of people and their dogs for a morning of running, walking, and celebrating the incredible bond we share with our animals. Olive & Fable Pet Photography was proud to be there, not just as observers, but as a vendor supporting the cause and showing up for our dog-loving community.

Why the Furry 5K Matters

The Furry 5K isn’t just a fun day out with your dog. This event directly benefits the Seattle Animal Shelter, helping provide medical care, enrichment, and loving homes for animals in need. As a Washington photographer specializing in dog and cat photography, we know firsthand how much joy our pets bring into our lives. Supporting an event that gives back to animals who haven’t yet found their forever families is deeply meaningful to us.

By being there, we were able to connect with people who love their pets as much as we do while also helping raise awareness for a cause that aligns perfectly with our mission—celebrating and preserving the legacy of the pets who shape our lives.

Being Part of the Community

One of the best parts of the day was getting to meet so many new faces- both human and dogs! From energetic dogs fresh off the 5K trail to pups dressed in their best costumes for the post-race festivities, it was a joy to talk with families about their pets, their stories, and how photography can honor those connections.

As a Kirkland studio photography business, much of our work happens in the studio or during private outdoor sessions. The Furry 5K gave us the opportunity to step out into the wider pet community, meet pet parents where they gather, and be a part of the celebrations that make Seattle such a wonderful place for animal lovers.

Photography That Goes Beyond the Studio

Events like the Furry 5K remind us of the many ways photography fits into people’s lives. In the studio, we create fine art portraits, timeless, museum-quality pieces that become heirlooms. Out in the community, we get to see pets in motion: joyful, silly, proud, and full of life. Together, these perspectives show the full story of what it means to love and be loved by an animal.

Whether it’s studio portraits in Kirkland or lifestyle photography at events, our goal is always the same: to create images that honor the bond you share with your pets.

Looking Ahead

We left the Furry 5K feeling energized and grateful, for the incredible work of the Seattle Animal Shelter, for the families we met, and for the chance to stand alongside fellow dog lovers in support of such an important cause.

If you stopped by our booth, thank you for saying hello. We hope to see you again, maybe in our studio in Kirkland, or at the next community event where pets take center stage.

Ready to celebrate your own pet’s story? Whether you’re dreaming of a fine art portrait in our Kirkland photography studio or want to capture your dog’s playful side outdoors, we’d love to help.
