How to Prepare for your session

Getting ready:

Your studio session is a chance to slow down, breathe, and let your pet’s personality shine in a space designed just for them. Preparing a little ahead of time helps create a relaxed experience and allows us to capture their truest expressions and the story you hold so close.

What to Do Before Your Session

  • Give your pet a light grooming
A clean face, brushed coat, and tidy paws help them feel comfortable and look their best. No need for anything formal. A soft brush-through the night before is perfect.

  • Bring their favorite treats
Choose small, high-value treats they love. The more irresistible, the better. If your pet has allergies, please pack something safe for them.

  • Pack meaningful items
If your pet has a special collar, a favorite toy, or something that represents who they are, feel free to bring it. These small details help tell their story.

  • Walk or potty break before arriving
A quick break outside helps your pet settle when they enter the studio. Calm bodies and curious noses make for the best portraits.

  • Keep routines familiar
Meal times, naps, and walks should stay the same. A normal day creates a more relaxed pet when the session begins.

  • What to Expect in the Studio

Our Kirkland studio is designed to feel warm, quiet, and welcoming. We begin by letting your pet explore the space so they can settle in. Sessions move at your pet’s pace. Every moment is gentle and unhurried, allowing us to capture the expressions, quirks, and quiet details that make them who they are.

If your pet is energetic or shy, noisy or mellow, young or senior, know that we adjust to them completely. Every personality has its own magic, and it always photographs beautifully.

Including Humans

If you are planning to be in a few portraits, choose outfits in soft, neutral, or earthy tones that complement your home and your pet. Avoid heavy patterns or bright neons, and opt for simple, timeless pieces that allow the focus to remain on your connection.

Final Notes

You are welcome to ask questions at any point leading up to your session. Whether you are unsure about wardrobe, want help choosing items to bring, or wish to talk through your vision, I am here to support you every step of the way.

Your session is not just about portraits. It is a celebration of your companion, your story, and the quiet moments you share. I cannot wait to welcome you to the studio.
